There are so-called sun places that have a special connection to the sun. In my opinion, they include Montecarlo in Monaco and St. Moritz in Switzerland. In the Beausoleil (translated: “beautiful sun”) district of Monaco (actually already a municipality in its own right), sun symbols are engraved in the pavement slabs on the streets. These sun symbols tell of the special quality of this place and at the same time remind the place of its identity.
Every time someone walks over these panels, touches them, and admires them, the memory and connection to the sun are activated. They appear like a decorative design, but at heart, they are a symbol of the place’s own identity.
